A working day in the life of Alske

In this blog, we take you through a working day in the life of Alske, Product & Innovation Manager at Animo

Starting the day

At the sound of the alarm clock…I’m actually not really the sunshine in the house. Freezing cold, early…it doesn’t help me jump out of bed quickly. I turn around a few more times, only to have everything back on time in a hurry (further details of toothpaste in the clothes and peanut butter behind the ears I’ll leave out…).

8 a.m.
In the car, I wake up quietly. I listen to the radio and hear the current events of late for a while; the war going on right now, energy crisis, transgressive behavior. What a bizarre world we live in sometimes!

A switch in my humor slowly comes upon hearing Overpas Graffiti by Ed Sheeran.

And then the energy starts coming again when I think about the workout a few days ago. This was an inspiring training day on LEAN. New information, a nice group of colleagues gives me enough input for new ideas. So with this energy and all the ideas in my head, I drive towards Assen.

Preparation for meetings

8:30 a.m.
Upon entering, I turn on my computer and take a moment to ask around me who would like a cup of coffee.

Just a check in my mailbox, calendar and our digital kanban boards.

10 a.m.
There is a meeting in my calendar with my colleague from Product Management. We have several projects underway about which we catch up with each other and set new action points together.

The project consultation

1 p.m.
This afternoon I have a project meeting scheduled. With our multidisciplinary team, we can realize the entire development from start to finish. Always a challenge to align everything, but due to a lot of knowledge and experience present, we have reached another milestone!

And then some time for some social talk in the department, ok…and some (‘bad’) office humor….

3 p.m.
Following this is another online introduction to a vendor, where we talk about digital transformation. Precisely because of corona, this has gained momentum. Work, meet, consult remotely, as well as generate data.

Time flies by

4:30 p.m.
I end the day by working out the action items and schedule from today’s project and product management meeting so I can share it with the team.

Oy! I also see a lot of new emails in my mailbox….

…The day flew by because of the variety, new input and inspiring colleagues!
